Children’s Vision and Learning Month. Have fun with some optical illusion and matching games from the Children's Vision Information Network. Also, The American Optometric Association website has links to programs that can help with eye exams.

July is

National Parks and Recreation Month. Enjoy our Storytime in the Park at DeMotte on July 5 from 7:30-8:30.

National Blueberry Month. Pick a tasty treat at a local blueberry grower! (Call ahead to confirm they are open; this year's weather has been hard on farmers.) Try the patriotic flag dessert recipe.

Enter our week-long Coloring Contest, open to ages 3-11.

You might have heard this strange phrase before, especially if it has to do with bad luck or something spooky, but what does it mean?

It dates back to the time of the Roman Empire, and to the emperor Julius Caesar.



 



 

The groundhog isn't the only one casting a shadow in February, and with all the nice weather we keep having, this may be a good time to play around with your shadow a bit.

What you'll need is a place to draw with chalk, like a driveway, or a park sidewalk, some chalk, a friend, and a good sunny day.
