DeMotte
Tuesdays, Oct. 24-Dec. 5, 9-11am

If you are concerned about falls because of balance issues, you may even be restricting your activities due to a fear of falling.

If you would like to improve your flexibility, balance and strength, come to the DeMotte Library each Tuesday, October 24 through December 5 from 9-11 am.

Alice Smith from the Purdue Extension Office will present ‘A Matter of Balance,’ a weekly series that will address concerns and offer practical strategies for managing and preventing falls by teaching participants to set realistic goals for increasing activity, changing environmental factors to reduce the risk of falling, and promote proper exercise for more stability and strength.

Cost to attend is $10, and these programs are helpful to anyone concerned about falling, including those who have suffered falls in the past and those who have restricted activity levels due to falls. Snacks will be served.

Registration required. Call 219-987-2221 or Register Online. (Register for individual sessions.)
