July 30th is the International Day of Friendship. Most of us have friends that we can count on but have you thought about what kind of friend you are to others?

Here’s a link to a fun test from Psychology Today.  See if you agree with the 13 ways it suggests you are a good friend.

It’s never too late to work on your friendships if you want to be a better friend. The Day of Friendship is the perfect time to reconnect with an old friend or make a new friend. Perhaps you’ve lost touch with a relative or neighbor.

Sure it might be a little scary at first, but you may end up brightening someone’s day. It starts with a smile and an opening question or observation and can end with a, “Let’s talk again soon.” Why not give it a try? Friendships can enrich your life in ways you never imagined

Jasper County Public Library has many books about friends so there’s sure to be something you’ll enjoy.  Check out some of the books listed below and reserve your copy today.
